Courses Offered: Beginner Java, Beginner Python, Computer Vision, Computer Aided Design (CAD). Please see below for more details on each of the courses.

Dates: December 21st to January 4th (No classes on Dec 25 and Jan 1)

Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM and 2:00 – 3:00 PM

Location: Online – Google Calendar Invite will be sent after registration

Please note – all course fees are donations that will go towards funding STEM education for disadvantaged children’s hospitals. You can pay the course fee through the link given AFTER you submit the form. Please be sure you complete that final step. 

Courses Offered

Beginner Java – Dec 21st to 28th 2 – 3 PM

Java is a fundamental code language that is used in all middle school and high school computer science courses. This course is designed for beginner coders with no previous experience and will cover from-scratch concepts like downloading an IDE, printing to the console, variables, conditional statements, and input/output mechanisms.

Grades: 5th – 8th

Beginner Python – Dec 29th to Jan 4th 10 – 11 AM

Jump into the world of programming with one of the simplest and most popular languages! This beginner-friendly course will guide you through foundational coding concepts, including variables, data types, loops, and basic input/output mechanisms. Perfect for those with no prior coding experience.

Grades: 5th – 8th

Computer Vision – Dec 29th to Jan 4th 2 – 3 PM

Explore the exciting fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence through the lens of Computer Vision! In this course, you’ll use Python and OpenCV to create interactive computer vision games, starting with Python basics and advancing to a complex game project. Along the way, you’ll cover Python syntax, conditionals, and OpenCV pipelines, developing a deep understanding of how machines “see” the world. Designed for students with some coding experience, this course opens doors to the world of AI in a fun and hands-on way.

Grades: 6th- 9th (prior coding experience in Python)

Computer Aided Design (CAD) – Dec 21st to Dec 28th 10 – 11 AM

Dive into the world of Computer Aided Design and discover how to bring your ideas to life! This course covers essential CAD concepts, guiding you through the process of creating 2D and 3D models using Onshape. You’ll learn about sketching, dimensioning, constraints, and assembly techniques to build complex designs. Perfect for beginners, this course is ideal for those interested in engineering, architecture, or product design.
